Gauteng Police to prioritise safety in schools

JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni says safety of schools is a top priority.
It comes after a video of an incident at a Katlehong school went viral.
Pastor Paseka ‘Mboro’ Motsoeneng is seen swinging a panga at teachers at the Matshidiso Primary School. He is accompanied by other men wielding firearms.

The suspects appeared in Court on Wednesday.
Teacher union, Naptosa, is calling for improved security at schools.
It says visitors should not be allowed beyond the administration block.

In the trending video, the controversial Pastor ‘Mboro’  left pupils and teachers terrified after wielding and chasing some people with a machete.
The incident is allegedly part of a family squabble.
Meanwhile, the Gauteng Education insists its schools are safe.
